About Us
Pour House Maple Farm is a small family owned and operated maple orchard nestled in the Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania.
Three generations of Purdum's have been cooking and selling syrup to the public since 2004.
Pour House Maple consists of two stands of trees containing about 3,400 taps. Tubing systems carry the sap to tanks which is then hauled and boiled in our sugar house at our farm. Starting in the fall and into the winter we work to fix and maintain all the tubing. When season finally arrives, we gather family and friends and head into the woods to tap all 3,400 trees. The season generally runs from mid February until late March or early April. Warm days and freezing nights make the sap flow. For those few months we work full time here at the farm, gathering sap, and boiling down about 40 or 50 gallons of it to make one gallon of pure maple syrup!
